Our mission

As a pizza restaurant with a different angle and a big chunk of ‘belgitude’, our daily task is to make sure that our customers enjoy the best moment of their day with us.

Otomat is the sum of everyone who is part of our team.

Your role

As the restaurant manager’s ‘side-kick’, you’ll work together to ensure that the restaurant runs smoothly, focusing on the quality of the food and products we offer. This may include recruiting and training people for the crew in the kitchen, contact with suppliers, introducing new pizzas, waste management, ordering and stocktaking. Your role will keep you mainly in front of house, but you’ll also duck regularly into the kitchen to keep your finger on the pulse of what is going on. And as part of this tandem position, you’ll take over the manager’s tasks whenever she or he is not there.

What we promise you

  • ‘We hire for attitude and train for skills’
  • Your team will be made up of people who have the same values and standards as you. We believe that you will be happiest at Otomat in the long run.
  • You will be part of a dynamic growth story where, in addition to on-the-job training, there is plenty of room to go on extra training courses that match your talents and ambitions. You can choose these courses and do them at a time that suits you. So you could call it a package tailored to your needs…

Your talents

  • Providing and receiving constructive feedback gives you energy. You see it as an opportunity to enrich yourself and your team with new knowledge and insights on a daily basis. You will discuss and analyse product feedback with your team in the kitchen.
  • You listen actively to the team and are able easily to distinguish between what is important and what is not, so that you can get to the heart of the matter.
  • Applying a health dose of common sense and a touch of logical thinking, you are able to ensure that things run smoothly and up to quality in the kitchen.
  • You are able to spot the needs of your team and display understanding for everyone with their own unique background.
  • When things get really busy, you are able to change up a gear, keep your eye on what’s happening and set priorities.
  • You can listen actively, get to the core of the matter and work on it.
  • Your enthusiasm and open personality ensure that you are easy to approach for others. You are inquisitive by nature and like to share your knowledge with ‘newbies’ as you train them to become fully-fledged pizza troopers.
  • Having a big smile and a sense of humour are a big plus.

Practicalities

  • A full-time 38-hour contract
  • Gross / net overtime
  • Variable working hours
  • Correct pay, in line with PC 302 category 6
  • Start date to be arranged mutually
  • Address: Kleine Vismarkt 3, 9000 Ghent

Application procedure

  • Send your resume and motivation to jobs@otomat.be
  • The manager will invite you to come so that he or she can listen to what you find important about your next challenge and also to explain our way of working.
  • Then come and join us for a day. There’s no better way of finding out whether you feel at home in the team and with Otomat.
  • Fill in a DISC survey. This will give us a clear picture of how you want to be treated and what your preferred style is.
  • And if we have a match… then let’s go!
